Remembering Pi



Interested in memory and its mysteries? Here’s an interview with savant Daniel Tammet, who recites from memory the first 22,514 decimal points of Pi. Actually, that’s not even close to the 2005 world record set by Akira Haraguchi of 83,431 decimal places.


Computers have now calculated the first 1.2411 trillion decimal places of Pi, and of course that’s just the beginning. If you’d like to know how far down that sequence your date of birth first occurs, click here.
